New 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Unveiled

The new Corvette 2014 unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show is certainly great news for the sport car enthusiasts.

The newest Corvette is bringing back the legendary Stingray name. First introduced in 1963, on the 2e generation Corvette, the Sting Ray was the first Corvette to feature a spit rear window and a tapering rear deck.

The bright red C7 generation Corvette unveiled Monday, is the most powerful Corvette ever produced. Still equipped with a V8 engine, the newest Corvette is producing 456 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque. Built on a new aluminum frame, with carbon fiber hood and roof panel, the new Corvette is 45 kg lighter, than the C6 version. Never the less, the sport car still delivers great performance and will acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometer per hour in less than 4 seconds.

The cockpit was also upgraded with optical carbon fiber trim and better sitting options. "We believe the Corvette represents the future of modern performance cars because it delivers more power, more driving excitement and better fuel efficiency explains Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. "The result is better performance by every measure. The 2014 Corvette delivers the fastest acceleration, the most cornering grip, the most track capability, the best braking performance and what we expect to be the best fuel economy ever for a standard Corvette."1

The new Chevrolet Corvette 2014, should be available at Automobiles Paillé in the fall of 2013.
