2026 GMC Sierra EV: performance and powertrains

Every 2026 Sierra EV uses two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, with e4WD. GMC also keeps a single body configuration. You get a five-passenger cabin and a short cargo bed measuring 5 feet 11 inches. No need to overthink the “perfect” setup. You already get a solid balance of cabin space, utility volume, and stability.

You can, however, make key choices based on the range you need. Depending on the trim you choose, different battery packs are offered. They improve your freedom between charges, as well as power and torque. Here are the numbers:

Standard-range battery pack:

  • Elevation only: 605 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque.
  • Up to 455 km of range

Extended-range battery pack:

  • Elevation: 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque.
  • AT4: 625 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.
  • Denali: 645 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque.
  • Up to 660 km of range, depending on the trim.


Max-range battery pack:

  • AT4: 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque.
  • Denali: 760 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque.
  • Up to 769 km of range, depending on the trim.

In the Elevation, for example, this trim offers one of the best balances between entry price, maximum towing capacity, and versatility.

The AT4 focuses more on adventure and off-road driving. You get 35-inch all-terrain tires, a 51 mm increase in ground clearance, the Terrain mode, red recovery hooks, four-wheel steering, and a crab walk function.

In the Denali, the Sierra EV takes a more upscale direction. You get up to an estimated 769 km of range. It also adds an Air Ride adaptive suspension, 24-inch wheels, Super Cruise, and 10.2 kW Energy Transfer Pro.

 

Options and accessories for towing

On the 2026 Sierra EV, the right options make a real difference when you tow often.
