Chevy Volt Owners achieved 160 Million Electric KM Milestone

Difficult to believe, that the small Chevy Electric car is 2 years old already. And during this short period of time, it has also achieved an important milestone. In fact, Chevrolet recently reported that all the Chevy Volts owners have collectively driven more than 160 million km in electric mode only! Now that's worth celebrating.

On average, each Chevy Volt owners drives 1500 km in all-electric mode per year, which represents a month and a half without stopping at the gas pump. But being an average, some Chevy EV, actually spend more time behind their wheel in pure electric mode.

Sixty-five percent of the time Volt owners travel short distance, and will be travelling in all electric mode only. During longer trips, the efficient Chevy Volt will not require any gas until after the first 80 km of road.

When you transform these data into more tangible saving, it means that Volt owners have saved a little more than 1,300$ in gas this year, adding up to a total of 20 million of liters of gasoline that did not pollute the air in North America. When you look at the actual price of gas in Québec, this represents close to 25 million dollars of gas savings.
